William Russell

Will Russell is Cornerstone Wealth’s Business Development Officer. As a key team member, Will is vital in driving firm growth, developing and maintaining strategic business relationships and advancing new business opportunities.

Will’s broad experience set prior to joining the Cornerstone Wealth team includes 18 years of Financial Services experience and over 10 years of Military Service as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer (Active Duty & Active Reserve).

After graduating from the University of Alabama, Will entered the Marine Corps Officer Program in Quantico, Va. During his Marine Corps Service, Will achieved the rank of Major and led Marines in a variety of billets at the Company and Battalion Levels to include I Battery 3/10, Battalion Landing Team 1/8, 1st Air & Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) and 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company.

After his Marine Corps Service, Will entered the Financial Services Industry in an Institutional Equity Sales capacity providing Portfolio Managers and Equity Analysts advice, research and ideas regarding various institutional equity investments as a Director of Institutional Equities at Howard Weil / Scotia Capital in New Orleans, La. 

After Howard Weil, Will advised companies in the energy, industrial, and technology sectors in the delivery of major capital projects as the Director of Global Solutions for Strategic Project Solutions (SPS).  After SPS and prior to joining Cornerstone Wealth, Will re-entered the Financial Services Industry as the Managing Director of Capital Markets for Roberts & Ryan Investments, a Service-Disabled Veterans Owned Firm.

Will is a native of New Orleans, La. and currently resides in South Florida with his wife and two daughter.  Away from the office, Will enjoys outdoor physical activity, spending time with his family (dogs included), and watching Alabama Football.
